For one incredible summer, Ryan shows Beth what it’s like to act her own age. In her darkest moments, she meets a boy named Ryan. Surrounded by the comfort and protection of her extended family, Beth embarks on a journey of healing far from the horrors of her home. From the moment a trusted family friend steals her innocence until the moment another rescues her, she struggles to just survive.

Beth Bradshaw has spent her life hiding from her tragic past. Not one of my favourites, but it was worth of my time.Life shouldn’t be about picking up the pieces. I really loved Tommy and all his support and caring. But older she got it was easier to believe it. And maybe because of that I couldn't actually believe that she was so young. It was written as if an older person spoke of it, no simplicity. Review 2: At first when I started to read the book, I had a hard time believing the age of Beth. It shows us that there will always be someone ready to accept our whole self. It shows us that there are people who will always be there for us and help us get ourselves together. A person who was shattered to pieces but got back up to fight for the pieces of oneself. I felt like the book was rushed and all. Moving on, although this book was a let down for me (in beth's relationship with ryan), it is also a good read because it shows us that we can be strong to overcome any situation that can shatter us. This was what I didn't really in the book. Like what happened to drew, Beth's parents on how they reconciled, and beth and ryan in the 10 years gap. There wasn't enough details to really tell what happened to everyone. There's too many time skips for me and I didn't like it because so many events where left untold. I guess to me, It did not feel natural.Anyway, just like what I said earlier, the events were not enough because of the time skips. Although it really happens in real life, I felt like it was put there just to bring them together. Like what I said,I felt like their love was forced.

more There was really no part in the story where it showed the development of Beth and ryan's relationship. It was at that part where I had second thoughts in reading this book. And what really irritates me is their jerk moves with their bestfriends.

I felt like the events in the first half of the story were not enough to really back up for what they feel for each other and they were just together because that's what the author wants. I felt like their love was forced.I don't know what made me feel that way.I guess it's because of the background of their relationship. However, somewhere along in the story, I doubted what they feel for each other. I feel like they are really meant for each other. I rated it 3 stars because I feel like it could do better. Review 1: I don't really know what to feel after reading this book.
