

A Dojo would be built by Raphael Jones from this for his neighborhood friends to practice on moves and techniques, and being the artist that Raphael Jones was, his very first comic book called The Super Ninjas was born. Even at Raphael Jones’ elementary, he formed a karate ninja group called The True Ninjas, who was always at war with the rival karate ninja group called The Street Warriors. Karate movies were big at the time and in Raphael Jones’ neighborhood, all of the kids were doing karate and sparring with each other. Raphael Jones made this comic book with his little brother, as they would copy karate moves on television, only to duplicate them and use them on tires and tree branches in the neighborhood due to old tires constantly found in the neighborhood. The first comic book Raphael Jones made was called The Super Ninjas. The First Comic Book, The Birth of Battle Comics and The Super Ninjas Raphael Jones would even contribute to the school’s entertainment section of the school ‘s newspaper by providing artwork and trivial maze puzzles.

Aside from building arts and crafts with his friends, comic books were apart of this norm, and in school and at home, Raphael Jones and his classmates who were also apart of his childhood treasure would create comic books from out of school and home. All in all, there were 10 teams, and 4 neighborhoods involved. We did things like that as a child, we were never bored not once!’ Raphael Jones in his neighborhood would also create a basketball league, and he himself would draw the artwork for everyone’s jerseys using a sharpie marker in the neighborhood. We took everyone in, including the not so popular, who even to this day, thank us for the best childhood that a kid can have.’ Raphael explains ‘What’s even more funny is that, we would do things like take branch sticks and would fight bushes and old tires and pretend they were the bad guys. No one was excluded from playing with us.

Him and his neighborhood friends would not only watch inspiring cartoons and have sleep overs nearly every weekend when school was out, but would also build tree houses and club houses, and would do all the kid stuff like composing music by beating on trash cans. As a child, Raphael Jones primarily stayed reading both fiction and non-fiction books, drawing, building crafts, and doing research and learning about space and technology. Raphael Jones was born on Octoin Dayton Ohio in a family of 6, with him being next to the baby child.
